Joe Torre out. Joe Girardi in.
The Yankees make the wise choice in hiring Girardi as their next manager. He has a year under his belt in which he won manager of the year with the $14 million ‘06 Marlins. Now, he has the $200 million Yankee roster that needs a little kick in the pants. He [...]

As quickly as Boston won the World Series, A-Rod opted out of his contract with the NY Yankees. The best player in baseball is a free agent again. There are not many teams that can afford the former Yankee.
Where will he go?
Chicago - the Cubs Cubs could benefit most from A-Rod but the Sox also have a [...]

Following a 10-5 victory in game three, the Red Sox finished off the Rockies 4-3 in game four, completing the sweep…their second in three years. Now, the Red Sox are the team to beat in the baseball world and it looks like it will be that way for some time.

Game one was about offense, even with Beckett pitching a gem. In game two, the Red Sox flexed their pitching muscle in a 2-1 victory. The nail is near the coffin as the series heads to Colorado for the next three games. Weather and altitude may play a factor but the Rockies fans will bring [...]

Outside of Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, where are the quality quarterbacks? The QB used to be the make or break position. That player, leader brought you from the ashes in the fourth quarter to march down the field for the game winning score. It used to be Montana, Young, Elway, Marino, Kelly. Most teams [...]

Looks like the layover cooled the Rockies hot heels as Boston took game one very handily. The Sox also took game one against Cleveland and lost the next three so, don’t put the trophy in the case yet. Colorado is a good team and could make this a series, especially when they get home.

Can anything stop the Patriots? Yes, they were playing the Dolphins but you wonder, if this were a college game, the losing coach would be yelling that they were running up the score.
The other hot team in the league is the NY Giants. They now have won five straight and have the Cowboys looking over [...]

The Yankees started the interviews for a new manager after the departure of Joe Torre last week. Joe Girardi was first up with Don Mattingly and Tony Pena due to meet Yankee brass next. Donny Baseball has the slight edge to land the job but you never know. In any case, with the young pitchers on the [...]

The Red Sox did it again. Down 3-1 in the series, they found a way to pull what most teams find impossible…win out and take the series. They also make MLB happy to have a big market in the series, giving them another David v. Goliath.
Using home field advantage and Japanese rookies Daisuke Matsuzaka (Dice-K) [...]

There is an end to everything. Joe Torre is no longer the manager of the New York Yankees.
He will be remembered as one of the best managers in pinstripes and he helped restore Yankee pride. Over the last 12 years, Torre made the playoffs every year. The Yankees had 10 AL East titles and four World Series championships [...]
