NBA: Kidd wants out of New Jersey

A few months back, Kidd wasn’t feeling well and it was rumored that it was a ploy to tell the team he wants out.  Of course, the insinuations were denied.  But, as time does tell, Kidd wants out of New Jersey.

In the midst of a nine game skid, Kidd has had enough, requesting the trade to team management.  Nets president Rod Thorn will surely do his best to get a deal done but not to the detriment to the team.

Hello Los Angeles.  Kidd is what Kobe needs, a point guard that passes first and grabs rebounds.

  1. a LOT of teams are interested to take kidd, but they just can’t make any appealing offer to the nets.. i hope kidd gets to a championship contender eam.. he deserves to win a ring..

  2. Last year would have landed the Nets Andrew Bynum and I think they missed the boat on that one…Kidd would have been real good for Kobe in the playoffs…

  3. I would love to see Kidd go back to the team that drafted him. Dallas has the players to trade for Kidd and he would be on a serious championship contender. Whether Cuban and Donnie Nelson pull the trigger I don’t know. Here’s hoping I can pull my J-Kidd Mavs jersey from out of storage!

  4. wow! u have a kidd jersey? i want one too! and one from phoenix too! lol!
kidd should go to a team where he has the biggest championship chances.. dallas might be a good destination..

  5. Do you think the Nets would trade him to Boston?

  6. @teeoff
celtics could use a solid point guard, but i dont see them making a package that can satisfy the nets.. for me, dallas, cleveland, lakers or spurs are the likely destinations for kidd.

  7. Kidd did want to go to play with Duncan a few years back…LeBron does need someone to help

  8. @teeoff
i read that damon stoudamire will sign with the spurs this week.. that leaves no room for kidd to go there.. dallas, cleveland or los angeles are still good teams for kidd.. lebron really needs the help now.. larry hughes is pretty useless, varejao and pavlovic are both injured.. kidd can rejuvenate the cavs after IF he gets there..

  9. The Celtics would have to give up a lot of bench players, or one of the big three to satisfy any deal with the Nets for Kidd. I don’t know the dynamics of the NBA trade regulations, but I can’t see that happening. Kidd should go to the Lakers, but I would love to see him with Lebron. I think that would increase the overall ability of the team to be involved in the game because right now it’s Lebron all the time. Who would the Cavs be able to give up for Kidd?

Also, on an unrelated topic – Any insight to the Suns – Heat deal (Shaq for Stoudomaire)?

the celtics cant afford to give up any of their bench players.. their bench is already thin as it is. i don’t see kidd going to the lakers becuse they just had gasol on their line-up. cavaliers or mavericks are the likely destination for jason kidd..

shaq is already in phoenix. they traded shawn marion and marcus banks to get shaq..

  11. It sounds like LeBron wants Kidd, bad. Knowing that he needs a true floor general,

LA made their move. Now Phoenix. Dallas would be next but now is the time for an Eastern team to step up. Why can’t the East compete?

  12. @ teeoff
the east lacks talent. all the high caliber players are playing for the western teams. It’s hard to compete with the western conference if you’re team if full of mediocre players.
kidd playing with lebron james sounds appealing to me, i’m just now sure if it can work to get the larry o’brien trophy..

  13. Guess the trade to the Mavs didn’t quite work out, getting bounced in the 1st round of the playoffs.

After a long summer w/ the USA Olympic team, look for Kidd to struggle throughout the 2008-2009. He’s getting old and a full summer of playing will have an affect on his performance.

Ultimately, this trade will hurt Dallas’ ability to compete for the playoffs for years to come. The Nets are coming out of this the better team, especially after their Jefferson trade and drafting of Brooke Lopez.
