NFL: Truly a Super Bowl

What a game.  The Giants and Patriots played one of the best Super Bowls in history.

A defensive battle that left the game with a 7-3 halftime score, edge to the Patriots.  The Giants game plan was to get in Tom Brady’s face, knock him down and disrupt the best offense in NFL history worked to a T.

The Patriots were steady and took the lead 14-10 after Brady hit a an open Randy Moss for what looked to be the game winning score with four minutes left in the game.  Then, Eli Manning took the field and led the Giants on a 80-plus yard drive, highlighted by a terrific escape and bomb to David Tyree for a 32 yard gain, setting up the winning touchdown.  Manning was all but thrown to the ground when, somehow, he twisted and turned free from two defenders.  Tyree pinned the ball to his helmet as he battled Rodney Harrison down to the ground.

The undefeated season is no more.  Disappointed, the Patriots did not lose the game…the Giants won.
