NBA: Shaq to Suns

The Shawn Marion requested a trade just before the season amidst rumors that the Phoenix Suns were shopping the all-star.  It took about half a season but the Miami Heat offered up Shaquille O’Neal and the Suns bit also throwing in Marcus Banks.  The trade makes the Suns, the West’s top team, a solid contender for the title.  If Shaq can keep up with the upbeat tempo the Suns run, look out Kobe and Duncan.  The trade also puts more power to the West as the East struggles.  Shaq has two years left on his deal and Marion has an option for next season.

Does this mean Jason Kidd will go West? Dallas or LA could both use him to counter Steve Nash.  Or, does LeBron get the point guard that can take some pressure off his shoulders and bring him to the next level?  The trade deadline is February 21st.
