NBA: Kidd deal getting messy

With the Jason Kidd trade being held up by Devean George, who claimed Early Bird rights, Jerry Stackhouse was a little forthcoming with an Associated Press reporter.  From Stack’s comments, he mentioned that he wasn’t going anywhere and that he would be back with the Mavs in 30 days.  Speculation is that the Nets and Mavs had a deal that Stackhouse would be released after the trade, allowing him to rejoin Dallas.  That type of deal is an illegal deal and the trade would be blocked by the league.  Both Nets GM Rod Thorn and Mavs owner Mark Cuban deny that there was any illegal deal made in regards to Stackhouse.
