Ryan Newman wins Daytona

Ryan Newman passed Tony Stewart for the lead on the last lap with a little help from teammateKurt Busch.

Busch got behind Newman to help him get his first win in 81 races, a more than two year stretch.  Stewart tried to get help from his teammate Kyle Busch (Kurt’s brother) but as the two drivers tried to connect, Newman was already gone.  It is also the first win at Daytona for owner Roger Penske.

Dale Jr. finished ninth, while teammates Jeff Gordon (mechanical problems), Jimmy Johnson (wrecked) and Casey Mears (wrecked) did not finish.
