Kobe Bryant and the Lakers have to be the favorite coming out of the West because after the trade for Pau Gasol it seems like this team is playing great basketball. Kobe scored 52 against the Dallas Mavericks in a 108-104 overtime win. Kobe took control of the game scoring 22 points in the fourth quarter and 8 in OT. The Lakers are tied with the Spurs for the top spot in the West, with Dallas two games back. Jason Kidd scored 15 points and added 11 assists for his new team, playing 47 minutes.

no team in the NBA is playing as well as the Lakers right now. even though they are not one of my favorite teams, i must admit that they are like a well-oiled machine that just gets the job done night and night out. they’re my pick to win this year’s championship. especially if Bynum gets back into shape
