Then there were eight. Two more days of great basketball, lead by the Davidson win over Wisconsin, have us looking at a stellar Elite 8. Here is a recap of the brackets…
East
The Tar Heels took care of business with Washington State and look forward to playing Louisville, who beat Tennessee by 19 points to move into the Elite 8. North Carolina should be too much for the Cardinals but coach Rick Pitino could get his players pumped for an upset.
Midwest
Davidson pulled off another thrilling upset…this time beating #3 Wisconsin and pretty handily. Led by Steven Curry and his 33 points, Davidson won 73-56. They will face top-seed Kansas who beat Villanova. Can the Cinderella continue?
South
Top seed Memphis continues its run to the Final Four with a win over Michigan State. They will face Texas, who beat the twin towers and Stanford by 20 points – 82-62. The Tigers will continue their run and take the Final Four by storm.
WestUCLA ended Western Kentucky’s run with a 10-point victory. They now face #3 Xavier, who muscled their way through West Virginia, beating them 79-75. Xavier could surprise the Bruins and take a trip to the Final Four.
