MLB: Nationals beat Braves on Opening Night

What a way to start the season – a walk-off home run to christen a new ballpark on the first night of the 2008 MLB season.

Nationals Park starts off with a bang as the Nationals beat the Braves 3-2 on Ryan Zimmerman’s home run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning off Peter Moylan.  The Nationals got things going early, scoring two runs in the first inning.  The Braves got one back when Chipper Jones homered off Odalis Perez in the fourth inning.  They added another in the top half of the ninth to tie the game before Zimmerman ended it.

Opening day follows tomorrow and the 2008 season is underway.
