Donnie Walsh has been hired to replace Isiah Thomas as the New York Knicks team president. He is in charge of bringing back a team to Madison Square Garden.
Walsh said he wants to have a “meaningful basketball conversation” with Thomas, who he hired to work the Indiana Pacers bench. After two miserable seasons on the Knicks bench, the team is ready for a new face to help bring back some respectability.
Walsh does not want to be listed a savior. But, as a native New Yorker and front office contributor to the great Pacer/Knick rivalry of the 1990s, Walsh knows what the Garden and the Knicks need to be.
