NHL: Devils steal one in NY

The NJ Devils got their first win in the opening round of their series with rival NY Rangers with an overtime win on a goal that John Madden scored ff the skate of Ranger D Marc Staal.  The series is 2-1, advantage Rangers.

  • The Flyers evened their series against the Washington Capitals 2-0
  • The Bruins are playing the Canadiens tough, taking the top seed into overtime the last two games…the Bruins won game three and trail the series 2-1
  • The Red Wings lead the Predators 2-0 in their series, with game three on Monday.
  • San Jose Sharks and Calgary Flames are tied one game a piece
  • The Wild are tied with the Colorado Avalanche 1-1 in the series
  • The Dallas Stars are playing well leading the Ducks 2-0 in the series behind goalie Marty Turco

  1. Canadiens, being a young team, occaisionaly take opponents a little too lightly. The nice thing about this year’s club it seems that when the chips are down they are able to elevate their game. All 4 lines start rolling. Most folks I know figured it would be Mtl. in 5 – so there was Boston’s gimme game. habs should come back strong next game.

  2. Sounds like what they said about Buffalo the last two years…young team, 4 lines, unstoppable…
