PGA: John Daly has stomach surgery

No, not gastric bypass but to repair lingering damage from an injury at the 2007 Honda Classic.  Daly injury – a torn rotator cuff and two dislocated rib joints – has been the cause of his poor play.  The surgery was to repair a muscle tear that was a result of the dislocated ribs and resulting torn ligaments.

We may not see Daly stateside for a while as he is scheduled to play in the Spanish Open in Seville in two weeks.  Following that, he may stay in Europe for a bit as his sponsor exemptions have seemed to dry up on the PGA Tour.  He may play in the Italian Open, Irish Open and BMW Championship at Wentworth.
