NBA: Kobe finally wins MVP

Kobe finally takes home his first MVP honors, beating out worthy competitors Chris Paul, Kevin Garnett and LeBron James.  Kobe thanked his teammates and emphisized that he is after another trophy this season. 

The Lakers finished with the Western Conference’s best record this season and, with the addition of Pau Gasol, look to be the team to beat thus far in the playoffs.

Now, if he can get a championship this year his career will be complete, with years to come.  To truly finish his career right, he has to win one without Shaq.  This may be the year.

He has been one of, if not the, best players in the NBA since he joined the league.  He and Shaq had a perfect partnership and would have won more rings than fingers if they (Shaq) could have stayed out of each others way.
