NFL: Giants Burress unhappy

Having played most of last season on one leg, Plaxico Burress wants a new deal.  Three years into a six-year, $25 million contract, Burress wants an upgrade to market value.  The market is now set by Terrell Owens (3 yr. $27 mil), Randy Moss (3 yr. $27 mil) and Larry Fitzgerald (four-yr, $40 mil).

The good…the Giants saved $4 million on the retirement of Michael Strahan and it is early in the summer

The bad…training camp can sneak up on a team if they don’t take their #1 receiver seriously; he would sit out and have a negative impact on an upbeat locker room

Terrell Owens of Dallas and Randy Moss of New England recently signed three-year contracts for $27 million, while Larry Fitzgerald of the Arizona Cardinals got a four-year, $40 million contract with a $30 million guarantee.

  1. I say they pay him. Compared to other receivers who have not won a championship, he is not getting paid as much. Make a deal with him, and everything will be fine.

  2. I think they should definatly pay him however i think they have to take care of Snee first. He is such an unsung hero for the team. Plex wont get too many passes if Eli has Demarcus ware in his face all day. I just wrote about this today as well you should def check it out. I think the giants are a class organization theyll take care of him i think Snee is the one that needs to be take care of.

  3. They will pay him…they can’t afford not to. A happy Burress is a happy Giant offense
