Top seeds Andy Roddick, James Blake, Maria Sharapova, Novak Djokovic were all upset in the early rounds of Wimbledon shaking up the tournament schedule. The men’s side usually comes down to Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal but Americans major championship hopes always rely on Roddick and Blake.
Sharapova, the women’s #2 ranked player, has her earliest exit since the 2003 U. S. Open. Both Venus and Serena Williams are still in play and are set up to face each other in the finals…if they make it that far.

Well now that Wimbledon is actually done what did you think about the 5 setter that capped the men’s draw? Pretty amazing I thought. The big question really is can Rafa hang on physically to move things up a notch at the U.S. Open? He’s clearly adjusted to grass. How about the hardcourts? He needs a bit of rest, but after the Summer holiday he’ll back spinning backhanders, forehanders and dropshots on the hardcourts. Will Fed win a major this year? That is another big question.
Tennis is all the craze this year. Gotta love the changing tides.
