Baseball: 9-year old with 40mph heat banned

There is a nine-year-old that was banned from pitching in his little league in New Haven, CT for being too good.  The boy – Jericho Scott – has a 40 mph fastball and when he took the mound for his last game, the opponent refused to take the field and forfeited. 

There is some suggestion that the league is playing hard ball with the boy for turning down an invitation to play for the defending champions sponsored by one of the league administrators.  Scott’s team is 8-0 heading into the playoffs when the league barred him from taking the mound. 

It is sad that a league would do this to a nine-year-old that just loves playing baseball and pitching.  What has this world come to that pee-wee leagues have corruption?  Let’s hope that the adults come to their senses and let the boy pitch…for the love of the game.
